As the Lord of hosts lives, whom I serve..."        1 Kings 18:15

Ash Wednesday

The Eremitical Community celebrates the beginning of the Holy Season of Lent with the Mass of Ash Wednesday, in which the Prior places ashes upon the heads of each of the Brothers as a sign of Repentance.  He also blesses and distributes the bread the Brothers have made as they begin the Holy Fast of the Lenten Season.
